ZEN is dedicated to empowering communities through quality education via our ZEN 2 Community initiatives.
We recognise that our business activities impact not only our stakeholders but also the broader environment and society.
As an indigenous Ghanaian company, we recognise the communities where we operate as our own and thus as integral parts of our identity. Their support grants us the social license we need for successful operations within our homeland.
We have integrated Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles into our business strategy and operations to drive responsible business practices, meet stakeholder expectations, and contribute positively to the communities we serve. We acknowledge that it is the right thing to do.
Our Sustainability Policy outlines our dedication to ESG and serves as a guiding framework for our company's operations, emphasising the principles of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) throughout our business practices.
ZEN Petroleum Limited is dedicated to being a leader in ESG principles within the Oil Marketing industry, delivering superior value to our stakeholders and contributing positively to the world.

Our Z2C initiatives have included the ZEN/NADeF Excellence Scholarship Awards, medical supplies donations, tuition fee scholarships, the Ayanfuri Resettlement Library, partnership with Lead For Ghana, focused on the education development in communities across Ghana, partnership with Akwaaba Volunteers to support the Future Leaders School (located at La Kpeshie in Accra), amongst others.
ZEN Petroleum has joined forces with Akwaaba Volunteers to bolster the educational environment at Future Leaders School (FLS). FLS, a non-governmental organisation, provides education to underprivileged children in the communities surrounding the La Kpeshie area in Accra. In a significant gesture of support, ZEN has allocated two million Ghana Cedis to advance this noble cause. These funds are earmarked for the acquisition of a school bus, subsidising teachers' salaries, and offering breakfast to pupils. This initiative resonates with the company's unwavering commitment to uplifting communities through access to quality education.
ZEN Petroleum forged a partnership with Lead for Ghana (LFG), a non-profit organisation, in September 2018. Since then, ZEN has been instrumental in supporting LFG's mission to eliminate educational inequity in Ghana and enhance education across the nation, thereby positively impacting students' educational outcomes. This partnership has been a cornerstone of ZEN's social intervention programs, with the company committing to donating a portion of its retail volumes (1 pesewa per litre) to LFG annually until 2022.

As part of our dedication to education and community support, ZEN Petroleum constructed a public library for the Perseus Mining resettlement village in Ayanfuri, situated in the Upper Denkyira West District of the Central Region. This initiative fulfilled ZEN's commitment made during the commissioning of the resettlement community and was a cornerstone of our 'ZEN to Community' (Z2C) social intervention programme. With an investment of $60,000, the library project aims to provide school children in the community with access to educational resources for exploratory reading and learning. Our objective is to empower these children to excel academically and compete effectively with their peers at all levels.
