Joined ZEN in 2018 and has over 25 years’ banking and financial experience. Worked for UBS where he headed Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) desk for UBS Investment Bank as well as managing an emerging markets-focused proprietary portfolio between 1993 and 2007, including running the top ranked Institutional Investor emerging markets business for five out of the last six years from 2001 to 2007.

FREDA DUPLAN
Board Member
Joined the ZEN Board in 2020. A noted Ghanaian corporate leader with almost three decades’ working experience with the Nestlé Group, rising through the ranks to become the first African woman market head in the Group and the first woman and Ghanaian Managing Director of Nestlé Ghana Limited. Has held other international roles with Nestlé as the Managing Director of Nestlé Pakistan Limited and Head of Nestlé Business Services in Manila, Philippines.

Board Member
Joined the ZEN Board in 2020 as an Independent Director and is the Chief Executive Officer of Standard Chartered Bank Ghana Limited; being the first female CEO in the Bank’s 120 year history in Ghana. Appointed as a NonExecutive Director of the Board of Standard Chartered Bank, Nigeria Limited in 2015 and has more than 20 years of experience in the banking sector, having held various senior roles in Corporate and Institutional Banking across the West Africa sub-region.

Chief Executive Officer
William founded ZEN in 2010. He is a UK trained Management Accountant with over 15 years’ experience in banking in London, Europe and Asia including posts at UBS, Schroeders and Merrill Lynch among others. William is responsible for business development and day-to-day management of ZEN.

KWAME ASAMOAH
Chief Financial Officer
Kwame joined ZEN in 2011. He trained in the UK as a Chartered Accountant with almost 20 years’ experience working with a major firm of accountants in various roles covering audit, corporate finance and tax planning. Kwame is responsible for the financial management of ZEN and various aspects of its day-to-day management.

NANA AKUA AYIVOR
Chief Operating Officer
Nana Akua joined ZEN from KPMG where she was a Partner and the Head of Audit Services for many years. Nana Akua is a Chartered Accountant with over 25 years post qualification experience in providing audit and related services to a wide variety of businesses across various industries and sectors in both the Ghana and Nigeria practices. She was appointed the first female Partner of KPMG Ghana in 2010 and had an eventful career with KPMG. Nana Akua oversees ZEN’s day-to-day operations, while developing and implementing strategies to enhance our operational efficiency and sustainability.

STANLEY TWENEBOAH
Group Operations Director
Stanley joined ZEN in 2015. He was previously the Reliability Engineer at African Barrick in Tanzania, with additional 10 plus years’ experience as operations manager and technical engineer at various Mines including Tarkwa, Nzema, Ahafo, Iduapriem, Damang, Bogoso, Chirano and Akyem in Ghana. He is responsible for all ZEN’s site operations.

PETER DUPLAN
Group Human Resources (HR) Director
Peter joined ZEN in January 2021. He previously worked at GLICO Group Ltd (GLICO) where he was the acting Group Head of Human Resources. Prior to joining GLICO, he was the HR Business Partner for Corporate Functions as well as the Employee Relations Manager at Vodafone Ghana. Peter holds a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management from the University of Ghana. He is responsible for delivering the full range of Group HR strategy and operations.

Retail Director
Prince joined ZEN in June 2012. He is responsible for all aspects of fuel retail operations with 10 plus years of experience in the downstream oil marketing industry. Previously with Oando Ghana in charge of Operations and Engineering, Prince holds a degree in civil engineering from KNUST, and graduate studies in the field of oil and gas management from Coventry University. He is a credentialed project management professional from the Project Management Institute.

Health Safety & Environmental Manager
Boniface joined ZEN in 2015. He has over 10 years’ experience as an HSE manager at Newmont Mines and for various fuel transportation companies including J.K. Horgle & Co. Ltd. Boniface is responsible for all HSE issues at ZEN sites in Ghana.

MERCY SMITH
Commercial Manager
Mercy joined ZEN in 2016 as a Lubricant Engineer. She previously worked with Optimus Services Ltd in Hull (UK) as a Process Engineer. Mercy Holds a BEng in Chemical Engineering from The University of Bradford (UK) and also certified by the South African Institute of Tribology. She is responsible for managing ZEN’s external relationships with key stakeholders and overseeing and managing projects.

DOROTHY OFORIWAA OCRAN
Corporate Affairs Manager
Dorothy joined ZEN in 2023. She previously worked with KPMG where she served as Deputy Manager for Business Development and previously as a Sales Operations/Marketing and Communications Professional. With over 10 years’ experience in marketing communications and public relations, she holds an MA in Communication Studies from the University of Ghana. Dorothy is responsible for overseeing communication strategies and overall corporate image at ZEN – ensuring positive relationships with all stakeholders.
EXTERNAL ADVISER
WILL LLOYD
Investment & Compliance Joined ZEN in 2016. 15+ years Corporate Finance and Financial Management experience in Zurich, London and Amsterdam. Since 2013 specialised in international cross border financing and investment between Europe and Africa, including PPP projects in Ghana working with institutional, private and public institutions.
